Bio[]

Appearance[]

Hiroko was a small girl with shoulder length hair and big eyes. She wore a plain sleeveless dress.

As a monstrous spirit, she appears to be older with longer, messy hair.

Personality[]

Hiroko was a slow-runner who was picked on to the point of crying. But she became determined to improve.

History[]

The ghost who chases people in their dreams is first mentioned when an anxious classmate confides in Chika. As more and more students begin to hear about it, she and her friends suddenly recall a classmate from 1st grade who vanished one day- a girl named Hiroko they used to make fun of. They ask their substitute about Hiroko and he explains that she began to run to-and-from school in order to improve her running speed, but one day she was hit by a vehicle.

The girls attempt to appease her until they learn she is still alive at her old home, and soon the nightmare and its rumor died down. Then one day, Chika hears it from her mother and she fails to find someone else to repeat it to, causing her to have it. Her confidence gets the best of her until she realizes the ghost flawlessly keeps up with her because it has been running through each dream, growing stronger and fast. She pleads for help and trips, leaving her exposed for Hiroko to tag.

Time passes by and Hiroko is revealed to have been in a coma since the accident. As the nurse expresses remorse for her, she learns the patient in the next room was in a similar accident and went into a coma during sixth grade. Chika helplessly lays in bed endlessly playing tag with Hiroko.
